Executive Director, Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children

Dr Howard Taylor is Executive Director of the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Children, a public-private partnership launched by the UN Secretary-General.

Howard has lived in Africa, Asia, Europe and the US. He has led a global corporate foundation, established a creative social enterprise, built government teams, and led a UN-hosted global partnership.

As Vice-President and Managing Director of the Nike Foundation, Howard was the driving force behind the successful spin-out of Girl Effect. He was Chief of Staff to two Secretaries of State and led DFID’s largest country programmes in India and Ethiopia.

Howard also serves as a member of the International Telecommunication Union Broadband Commission Working Group on Child Online Safety.

WeProtect Global Alliance is one of our key partners and a true example of how multistakeholder platforms can create momentum and generate political commitments on complex and pressing issues – such as online child sexual exploitation and abuse. Thanks to this collaboration, our Safe Online investments are targeting the greatest areas of need and making the digital world safe for children.”
